Hennepin Tech Career Fair a Success!
(Eden Prairie, MN) Over 50 local high school and technical school students stopped by John Henry Foster’s (JHF) booth during the Manufacturing Career Fair held at Hennepin Technical College at the Eden Prairie, MN campus on February 6th. The purpose of the Manufacturing Career Fair is to get students excited about careers in manufacturing and JHF was there to represent related fields such as electrical, robotics and pneumatic automation.
Automation Specialist, Matt Mensen and Electrical Engineer, James Kirk were both on hand to give students an up close and personal look at robotic automation in motion, as well as sharing their job responsibilities to those interested in the field.

The highlight of JHF’s booth was a Universal Robot UR3 display in which students could push a color-coded button corresponding to can koozies of the same color. The robot arm would pick up the specified color koozie and present it to student to take home with them. Along with Universal Robots, JHF distributes an assortment of robotics to help streamline and automate production. You can now automate virtually anything with robots.

“I really enjoyed watching the students interest in our display. They were curious and that curiosity is what sparks interest in our industry. They want to know the details about how it works and how easily the robot could be programmed” said Kirk.
The JHF crew was simply happy to help our future workforce get excited about automation and get them thinking about the possibilities.
