Account Assistant

General Purpose of the Job:

To assist in the accounting office by posting daily receipts, monitoring and updating customer tax-exempt status, gathering and posting credit card transaction, reconciling credit card settlements, providing back up phone coverage on a rotational basis for receptionist breaks and vacations, and assisting with other duties as needed within the department.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Daily Receivables
  • Post daily cash receipts to appropriate accounts. Confer with collections staff or call customers when questions/discrepancies arise.  Run receivables reports and journals to ensure check batches balance.
  • Work with accounting staff to offset credit card payments, miscellaneous credits and make invoice adjustments.
  • Follow up with customer and/or collections staff when customers short-pay, over-pay or take credits not yet in the system.
  • Reconcile credit card settlements posted in accounting system to merchant bank settlements.
  1. Customer Sales Tax Maintenance and Reconciliation
  • Communicate with customers regarding all sales tax matters via E-mail, phone and fax.
  • Request current tax-exemption forms as needed and clarify whether customers are fully or partially tax-exempt. Enter exemption status changes and certificates into the system.
  • Assist inside sales personnel in making sales tax adjustments to orders in system to ensure correct sales tax amounts per jurisdiction are charged and collected.
  • Apply internal credits for sales tax charged to customers in error.
  • Prepare monthly summary sales tax reconciliation for use in filing sales tax returns for 5 states.

3. Complete and send JHF W-9 forms as requested by customers.

Other duties as assigned by V.P. of Finance:

  1. Monitor general accounting e-mail box with other accounting staff. Respond to requests for invoice copies, order information and other miscellaneous questions via E-mail, fax and/or follow-up phone calls.
  2. Deliver internal mail in the morning and the afternoon.
  3. Serve as back-up for receptionist’s breaks.
  4. Attend departmental meetings to keep communication lines open and discuss current issues.

Qualifications, Skills and Education:

  • Knowledge of basic accounting practices
  • Knowledge of sales tax practices and guidelines

Installation & Piping Specialist

General Purpose of the Job:

Work on-site at customer locations to install compressed air and coolant piping. Mechanical background is helpful but will train as needed; able to diagnose and solve problems on a variety of piping systems.  Excellent communication and organizational skills with the ability to work closely with customers to resolve issues in a timely manner; increasing overall customer satisfaction.

Industrial Control Panel Builder

General Purpose of the Job:
John Henry Foster (Eagan, MN) is hiring an Industrial Control Panel Builder for its Eagan location. This position will work closely with our Automation Department to interface electrical systems with pneumatic circuits for small machinery.  This position requires a highly self-motivated individual with the ability to multi-task and work well under pressure to build and maintain customer expectations both internal and external.  Ability to work as a team to independently to accomplish department goals.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Layout and install electrical components in control panel enclosures and wire them to the schematics provided.
  • Measure, layout and use hand and power tools to cut control panel enclosure holes to mount devices
  • Label all wire circuits per electrical schematics
  • Perform tasks with safe and proper use of hand and power tools
  • Maintain a safe, clean and well organized work environment
  • Ability to look for ways to improve and promote quality
  • Good organizational ability and detail orientated

Qualifications, Skills and Education:

  • High degree of mechanical aptitude
  • Ability to read electrical schematics a plus
  • Any type of wiring experience a plus
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks and projects to meet production schedule/project requirements
  • Good problem solving skills with the ability to evaluate options and implement solutions

Parts Coordinator 

General Purpose of the Job:

Process part orders, provide pricing, inventory, order fulfillment and handle customer inquiries. The Parts Coordinator will create and develop on-going business relationships with customers via phone. This professional will also provide excellent customer service including phone sales and pricing, processing customer orders via phone, fax and email, expediting customer orders, follow-up on sales leads, crossing over product to increase product sales, and assist outside sales team with parts information. Strong attention to detail and coordinating skills vital as this position establishes quality assurance for the Capital Parts Department.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Serve as key contact for Company product and pricing information
  • Process customer orders and expedite deliveries
  • Quote parts requests for the Service Department
  • Coordinate Service Contracts – enter data, billing and reporting
  • Coordinate transfers, returns, credits and receiving of capital parts
  • Facilitate entering, pulling and shipping orders – includes “piping”
  • Assist with truck shipments, inbound and outbound
  • Enter blanket releases and billing for rental units
  • Expedite parts for Service orders and contacting Vendors for delivery dates
  • Assist Parts Manager in handling of all JHF customer inquiries; supporting on-going communications and sales. Runs reports on as needed basis
  • Focus on increased “add-on” business with customer calls; increasing revenue per call/per customer
  • Knowledgeable on all Company products, parts and services including strong technical background on all capital part product offerings
  • Maintain inventory
  • Good understanding of competition and offerings

Automation Specialist

General Purpose of the Job:

John Henry Foster (Eagan, Minnesota) is hiring an Automation Specialist. This position will have an emphasis on creating and developing on-going business relationships with our customers. Additionally, this position will focus on providing excellent customer service including; technical support, pricing, processing customer orders via phone, fax and email, expediting customer orders, follow-up on leads, crossing over product to increase automation business, as well as assisting our Account Managers.

  • Work with list of target accounts along with other customer inquiries; supporting on-going communications and sales
  • Focus on increased “add-on” business with customers calling in; increasing revenue per call/per customer
  • Knowledgeable on all JHF products, parts and services including strong technical background on all automation product offerings
  • Good understanding of competition and offerings
  • Ability to successfully sell the JHF “value-add” proposition and cross over product on an as-needed basis
  • Build and maintain excellent customer relations (internal and external)
  • Recognize customer concerns; addressing proactively
  • Other duties as assigned by supervisor or management

Qualifications, Skills and Education:

  • Two-year degree in Automation/Fluid Power/Mechatronics
  • Professionally trained in automation systems
  • Knowledge of Infor Enterprise Software a plus
  • Team player, but also must be able to work independently

  • Ability to multi-task and work well under pressure or deadlines to meet customer expectations
